“If you don’t learn something every day, it’s a wasted day” – Jay Theiss
I was always told this quote from my father growing up, and thankfully it stuck. This was the single best item I could take from my childhood; it kept me motivated and curious. It should be no surprise then that I would go to school for Physics. My parents, after all, saw this coming when every week I would come downstairs with some new project. From my multiple tests with rockets to even a garage jet engine, I always had an affinity for the physical production of things.
It wasn’t until college however when I would begin to fine tune my knowledge. While in college I would meet my now wife Aimee Theiss. We moved in together, but I still lacked a garage, and so a space to produce things in. This would begin my step towards data analysis.
I enjoyed the analysis of data sets greatly, and I would eventually learn the finance world had tons of it. From projections of budgets to industry performance, I could not only push myself to learn about this new field but could apply my techniques in physics as well. Today this is what I work towards, positioning myself into finance positions with the unique perspective I can offer.
